Wholecloth

Wholecloth Cross-stitch Quilt

This is such a beautiful quilt! This is a whole-cloth quilt, where the flower borders, and birds are all hand-stitched in by counted cross-stitch. The interesting thing about these quilts is they have instructions for the quilting printed on the wholecloth as tiny dots (they are designed for hand-quilters). I took the general form of the quilting design and modified it for use for a long-arm system. For this quilt, I used a heavy-weight (35 wt) thread to match the weight of the cross-stitching. The result is fabulous! I wish I could have kept this quilt, but it had to go back to its rightful owner...
